Back when RAM was MB or even GB and hard drives were orders of magnitude larger, it was fine, but we have more memory than ever. This may be surprising, but it's actually fairly simple to understand. You put pictures, music, swap file/hibernation file on the HDD imho. The load times can be so long on a HDD that the performance impact you get from an SSD is massive to the game.

For example, you can do this by tweaking your program's settings and having them write their temporary files and logs elsewhere, such as to a mechanical hard drive if you have Too much to be spent on an unpolished game from a great franchise.
Keep some space free SSDs slow down as you fill them up because the drive will have a lot of partially filled blocks, which are slower to write to than empty Also if its filled up with steam games. If you are not use to chaning the performance manually use that software it will optimize it to run more effectively. Just cut and paste or...?
